Turkish Lentil Soup Recipe

Ingredients to make Turkish Lentil Soup:

  1. 200 grams of Lentils
  2. 1½ pounds of water
  3. 1 unit of Carrot
  4. 1 unit of Onion
  5. 2 units of Tomato
  6. 1 lemon unit
  7. 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  8. 1 teaspoon paprika
  9. 1 handful of mint leaves
  10. 1 pinch of salt and pepper

How to make Turkish Lentil Soup:

  • Before making this delicious Turkish soup, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.
  • In a pot with olive oil, add the onion and carrot cut into small cubes. Cook over low heat with the pot covered until soft, add a pinch of salt.
  • When ready, add the peeled tomato, without seeds and cut into small cubes. Cover again and cook until the tomato releases its juices.
  • Add the lentils, water and mint leaves. Cook uncovered over medium heat until lentils are cooked through, about 30 minutes.
  • Finally add the cumin, lemon juice, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix the seasonings very well and cook 10 more minutes.
