Recipe for homemade tomato soup with bread

Ingredients to make homemade tomato soup with bread:

  • 1 kilogram of ripe tomatoes
  • 1 loaf of old bread
  • 1 branch of fresh mint
  • 1 green pepper
  • ½ onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Water or vegetable broth
  • 1 jet of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper

How to make Homemade Tomato Soup with Bread:

  1. To start preparing our Andalusian tomato soup, we must prepare all the ingredients. To do this, chop everything finely, the garlic, the onion and the pepper you can leave it in julienne. The tomato should be cut into quarters and the bread into medium pieces.
  2. With everything already cut and measured, we begin to prepare the base sauce. Heat a frying pan with a splash of oil and add the garlic to fry. Before they get to brown add the onion along with the pepper and a pinch of salt, continue cooking over medium heat for 8 minutes.
  3. Next, add the tomato to the pan and let it bind and release the water, keeping it cooking for another 15 minutes. Stir from time to time with a wooden spoon.
  4. When our sauce is already linked, it will be time to add the bread. Stir everything so that the ingredients are integrated.
  5. You can soak the bread a few minutes beforehand in water or vegetable broth.
  6. To finish, wait for the tomato soup to boil again and then add the mint branches. Check and correct the seasoning with a pinch of salt and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve the homemade tomato soup with bread very hot and if you want, accompany the dish with a fried egg and roasted peppers. Bon Appetite!
