Stuffed galets are a typical soup for Christmas parties in Catalonia, Spain. It is a type of pasta called galet, stuffed with marinated minced meat and cooked in a vegetable broth. It is a simple recipe but it certainly tastes like Christmas, so if you still don’t know how to make stuffed galets, follow this step-by-step recipe from Sabor en Cristal.

Ingredients to make stuffed galets:

  1. 60 units of Gallets
  2. 1 pound of vegetable broth
  3. 300 grams of minced meat
  4. 75 grams of Serrano ham
  5. 1 pinch of Cumin
  6. 1 pinch of red and black pepper
  7. 1 pinch of Nutmeg
  8. 1 clove garlic
  9. 1 unit of Egg

How to make stuffed galets:

  • As with any pasta dish, the first step will be to cook the galets. To do this, heat enough water and when it boils add the galets and cook for a couple of minutes. Once ready, remove from heat, drain and run under cold water to stop cooking.
  • Next, we prepare the meat filling. To do this, use a large bowl and mix the egg, with the spices, the garlic and the finely chopped ham and the meat.
  • To fill the galets, it is important that the pasta has drained well and that there is no water left inside. You can then use a pastry bag to pipe the meat into each galet or do it directly with your fingers and a small spoon.
  • Next, place the vegetable broth in a large enough pot and bring to a boil. When it breaks the boil add the galets and let them cook for about 8 minutes or the time indicated by the manufacturer. Remember to subtract the previous two minutes of cooking.
