Ingredients to make Celery, Tomato and Avocado Salad:

  • 1 romaine lettuce
  • 2 branches of Celery
  • 4 pear tomatoes
  • 2 avocados or avocados
  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon lemon (zest)
  • 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 lemon (juice)

How to make Celery, Tomato, and Avocado Salad:

To start making this celery, tomato and avocado salad, the first thing we have to do is wash the lettuce well, drains it and cut it into small pieces with our hands. We reserve it.

You can use any other type of lettuce, endive, cabbage, or green vegetable you like to make Green Celery Salad.

Next, blanch the tomatoes in boiling water for 30 seconds, stop them from cooking by immediately placing them in a bowl with water and ice and remove the skin. Then cut them into large squares.

Tip: You can leave the tomatoes with the skin if you prefer.

Then, wash all the cherry tomatoes well and cut them in half. Save them for later. Next, wash well and cut the leaves off the celery. Then remove the fibrous strips from the outer walls with the help of a knife or a peeler and cut the stems into slices. This is done so that the celery is less stringy and can be chewed better in the green salad.

Now cut the avocados in half, remove the bone, and cut them into pieces to your liking. It is necessary that the avocados are the last ingredients that we cut because otherwise they will begin to oxidize and they will be brown. In any case, in the next step you will see how we can avoid this oxidation process.

So that the avocados don’t brown and to add an extra touch of flavor to the raw celery salad, squeeze a lemon and spread its juice over it, stirring carefully so that the avocados don’t fall apart too much.

Next, in a bowl we mix the celery, the tomatoes and the cut avocado, grate a teaspoon of the skin of the other lemon and spread it on top. We also add a splash of olive oil, a pinch of salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir the celery and avocado salad well to integrate all the flavors.

To finish, we serve the celery, tomato and avocado salad in a salad bowl or on different plates individually and that’s it! You can dress it with a different sauce if you like it better, but with olive oil and lemon it is much healthier.
