Homemade Garlic Soup Recipe

Ingredients to make Homemade Garlic Soup:

  • 250 grams of Bacon (optional)
  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 50 grams of pepper powder
  • 100 milliliters of olive oil
  • 400 grams of beef or chicken broth

How to make Homemade Garlic Soup:

  1. The first step will be to get all the ingredients ready. This means that you gather them on the work table, well measured and prepared, in order to speed up the process of preparing our garlic soup recipe.
  2. Now, place a pot on the fire and brown the garlic with olive oil for 2 minutes. Remember that the garlic must be finely chopped.
  3. Add the chopped bacon into strips and continue cooking the sauce for 4 more minutes.
  4. If you don’t want to add bacon to the soup you can simply skip this step or substitute it with sweet ham.
  5. Meanwhile, we toast the bread and cut it into small squares, each slice in four.
  6. Add the toasted bread to the sauce and continue cooking, again for two minutes.
  7. Before adding the broth to the pan, we season the sofrito of our garlic soup with a pinch of pepper powder. You can use spicy or sweet, this to taste.
  8. Then add the meat broth, rectify the flavor with a pinch of salt if necessary and keep cooking over medium heat for 5 more minutes or until it comes to a boil.
  9. Serve the homemade garlic soup piping hot and decorate each plate with a few sprigs of parsley.
