Ingredients to make Polenta Croquettes with Cheese:

  • 200 grams of yellow corn flour
  • 70 grams of butter
  • 200 grams of mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 liter of sunflower oil
  • 250 milliliters of water

How to make Cheesy Polenta Croquettes:

1.Before making this easy recipe, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.

2.In a saucepan, heat the water to a boil and add the salt and butter, mix until completely melted.

3.Add the cornmeal and stir until it forms a soft dough that comes off easily from the pot.

4.When the dough is cold, make small polenta balls, flatten them, add the cheese and form croquettes trying to make them all the same size.

5.Fry the croquettes in oil over medium heat until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Pass them through absorbent paper to remove excess fat.

6.Finally serve the polenta croquettes with cheese and enjoy. Served as an appetizer, these veggie croquettes pair perfectly with tartar sauce or chilled yoghurt mint sauce.
