Apple and Cinnamon Pie Recipe

This homemade apple pie is ideal to eat with friends and accompanied by a warm tea or coffee. Made with a tender and tasty dough, the apple and cinnamon pie has a soft texture and an unmistakable flavor. You will be surprised how easy it is to make because it will only take you a few steps.

Ingredients to make Apple and Cinnamon Pie:

  • For the mass
  • 350 grams of leavening flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 70 milliliters of cold water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 90 grams of white sugar
  • 100 grams of Butter
  • For the filling
  • 3 apples
  • 90 grams of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon powder
  • 30 grams of raisins
  • 1 glass of water

How to make Apple Cinnamon Pie:

  1. To make our tasty apple and cinnamon pie, we are going to start by preparing the filling.
  2. To do this, we must wash our apples well, peel them and cut them into thin slices.
  3. [Then, we will accommodate them in a pot and pour the water over them so that it covers them.
  4. Tip: If you have a pot with a lid, it would be ideal, to speed up the process and obtain an optimal compote.
  5. We will add the sugar together with the cinnamon and we will bring our pot to medium heat.
  6. Mix with a wooden spoon from time to time until our ingredients are integrated, the apples soften and everything together forms a puree.
  7. Once ready, remove from heat and let cool.
  8. Trick: Be patient that the filling of our pie, the compote, will take a few minutes to reach the soft point similar to that of the purée, you will see that it is worth it.
  9. Now we will proceed to prepare the doughfor our tasty apple and cinnamon pie. To do this, we will pour the butter together with the yolks and sugar in a bowl.
  10. Mix for 3 minutes with a whisk or fork.
  11. Add the cold water together with the rest of the sifted dry ingredients, the flour, together with the baking powder and salt.
  12. Mix until a smooth and uniform massis formed.
  13. Then, place our dough in a plastic bag and take it to the fridge for 20 or 30 minutes to let it settle and let it cool.
  14. Trick: If you notice that your dough needs flour, you can add 1 or 2 tablespoons by sprinkling them on it and then knead again.
  15. After the rest time, sprinkle a table with a little flour and divide our dough into 2 buns.
  16. One a little bigger than the other, since the one that we will use at the base must be more consistent than the one that will be used to cover our foot.
  17. Roll out the largest bun with a rolling pin and cover a previously buttered pie dish.
  18. Place it on top of the base of the mold, if there is excess dough, cut it with a knife.
  19. Tip: I chose a medium-sized tart pan and the dough squared perfectly.
  20. Next, we add the apple filling ontop of the base dough lid.
  21. Then, we will distribute the washed grape raisins so that they are spread evenly over the entire surface.
  22. The raisins can be blonde or brown, it’s a matter of taste.
  23. Tip: If you want a more buttery filling, you can cut small pieces of butter on top of the filling.
  24. Then, we will stretch the remaining dough ball with which we will cover the upper part of the filling.
  25. With our fingertips or with the help of a fork we will join the dough of the base with that of the cover, so that our apple and cinnamon cake is sealed on the edges to prevent the filling from coming out.
  26. Take our pie to the oven, previously heated, and cook at 180 ºC forapproximately 20 minutes or until you notice that the cake is golden.
  27. Then, we will remove from the heat and let it rest until it cools down.
  28. Now you can taste your apple and cinnamon pie, I assure you that it is exquisite. Enjoy your meal!
  29. Tip: If you want to get a shiny cake with a very golden hue, spread the yolk on the top. You can apply it with a kitchen brush.
