Ingredients to make Guinness Beer Pie:

  1. 250 milliliters of Guinness Beer
  2. 250 grams of Butter
  3. 75 grams of cocoa powder
  4. 400 grams of Sugar (2 cups)
  5. 250 grams of flour
  6. 2½ teaspoons of Baking Soda
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar or vanilla essence
  8. 2 eggs
  9. For the frosting
  10. 500 milliliters of liquid cream to mount
  11. 300 grams of cheese to spread
  12. 150 grams of icing sugar

How to make Guinness Ale Pie:

  • To start making this Guinness beer cake we start by preheating the oven to 180 ºC and putting the beer in a pot and heating it without letting it boil. When it is very hot, add the butter and dissolve it in the black beer with the help of a spatula. When dissolved, remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature
  • To continue making this easy Guinness cake, in a bowl mix the cocoa, sugar, flour, vanilla sugar or vanilla essence and bicarbonate with a whisk until well mixed.
  • Separately, in another bowl we add 140 of the 500 g of liquid cream and the eggs, and we beat everything until we obtain a homogeneous cream for our black beer cake. Then we add the beer with the butter once it is cold and stir again.
  • Then we add this mixture to the dry ingredients of the Guinness beer cake that we have mixed before and stir again until everything is well integrated. There must be a dough for the homogeneous cake without lumps.
  • Next, we grease the removable mold where we are going to make the black beer cake with a little butter and flour.
  • Pour the Guinness tart dough into the mold and put it in the ovenfor approximately 50 minutes, watching until you see that the top surface darkens and checking that it is done on the inside with the help of a wooden toothpick.
  • While we bake the black beer cake, we will make the cheese frosting to decorate it. To do this, in a bowl we put the icing sugar and the cream cheese and mix it well with some rods until we obtain a fine cream without lumps.
  • In another separate bowl or blender glass, add the 360 g of liquid cream that we had left and assembleit with the help of an electric whisk or some manual whisk, although it is better if we do it with electric whisks since it will cost us less.

Trick: For the liquid cream to mount well, it is better that the container where we are going to make it is very cold and the cream has just been taken out of the fridge.

  • Now we combine the mixture of cheese with sugar and the whipped cream with enveloping movements so that the cream does not come down and we will obtain the frosting for the Guinness cake easily and quickly.
  • When the Guinness beer cakeis baked, let it cool, and when it is cold, cover the entire surface of the cake with the cheese frosting. Or we can also cut the beer cake into portions and decorate them afterwards, as you prefer. Et voilà!
