Chocolate cake with cocoa recipe

Ingredients to make Chocolate cake with cocoa:

  • 120 grams of wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 egg
  • 100 milliliters of water
  • 50 grams of sugar (¼ cup)
  • 2 tablespoons of neutral oil
  • 1 dessert spoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 orange (zest)
  • 80 grams of chocolate for coverage (optional)

How to make Chocolate cake with cocoa:

  1. To start with the cocoa chocolate sponge cake recipe, first mix the egg with the sugar.
  2. Tip:these quantities are for a mold with a diameter of 18 cm, but you can adapt them according to the mold you have.
  3. Add the oil and vanilla essence. If you want, you can add orange zest, since this citrus combines perfectly with chocolate.

  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, sifting them previously with the help of a sieve or fine strainer. In this way, you will get a fluffy and delicious chocolate cake.
  6. Join the ingredients of your chocolate cake with cocoa and add the hot water. Mix until there are no lumps.
  7. Prepare a mold with a little butter or oil and flour. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  8. Pour the cake mixture into it and cook it in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until, when pierced with a toothpick or knife, it comes out clean. The chocolate cake with cocoa is almost ready!
  9. Unmold the cocoa cake once cold. If you want, you can cover it with chocolate for coverage or sprinkle icing sugar on top. Serve it up and enjoy
