- 12 units of cooked prawns
- 150 grams of cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon of Mustard
- 1 tablespoon paprika powder (hot or normal)
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint
How to make Appetizers for Christmas – With prawns and cream cheese:
- To start preparing these cold appetizers, wash and cut the cucumber. You will need more or less thick slices and you can leave it unpeeled or if you prefer, just peel some parts to give it an original touch.
- If instead of cooked prawns you have fresh prawns, put them to boil with water and then peel them, leaving part of the tail. If they are already peeled you can also make them in the pan with a little butter.
- To create the different cream cheese sauces, divide the cheese into three equal parts and mix each of these with the paprika, mint and mustard. Use, if possible, an electric mixer, until the cheese has softened and the result is a smooth sauce. You should have a yellow cream, a green one and a slightly red one.
- To serve the Christmas canapes, place a portion of cheese sauce on a piece of cucumber and top with the prawn. Pierce the shrimp with a toothpick to secure it to the piece of cucumber. If you want to give it an elegant touch, use a pastry bag to add the portions of cream.
