Ingredients to make sponge cake with white chocolate coverage:
- 5 tablespoons of liquid caramel
- 260 grams of pastry flour
- 15 grams of baking powder
- 200 grams of Sugar (1 cup)
- 120 grams of Butter
- 150 milliliters of Milk
- 4 eggs
- 1 white chocolate tablet
How to make White Chocolate Covered Cake:
- For this cake recipe with white chocolate coverage I decided to prepare a caramel and vanilla cake, but if you prefer you can opt for other less sweet cakes, such as a lemon cake. That said, we start the preparation by beating the milk with the liquid caramel and the sugar.
- Add the eggs one by one and continue beating to integrate the ingredients. I used electric rods to facilitate the work, but manual rods are equally valid.
- Melt the butter in the microwave, add it to the mixture and continue beating to integrate it. At this point, we preheat the oven to 180 ºC with heat above and below.
- Add the essence of vanilla to the cake batter without cream. If you want, you can add a couple of tablespoons of dulce de leche to make the cake softer. In fact, I did so and the result was delicious.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and integrate these ingredients with a spatula, making smooth enveloping movements. For this step I do not recommend the use of electric whisks, since they would spread the flour all over the kitchen and we would lose quantity of this ingredient.
- Pour the mixture into the greased mold and bake the cake without cream with heat only below. In my case, the cake took about 45 minutes to bake, but depending on the oven, the time may vary. After 30 minutes, we activate the heat above.
- When it is ready, we remove the cake from the oven and let it cool down to unmold it and decorate it.
- For the white chocolate coating, simply chop the chocolate and heat it for a minute in the microwave. We move with a spoon and heat a little more if we consider it necessary. And if you want to give it a touch of shine, add a couple of teaspoons of butter.
- With the same spoon, we distribute the melted chocolate over the cake and let it fall, as shown in the photograph. If you prefer, you can also cover the entire cake and even fill it by cutting it in half. As you can see, making a cake with white chocolate coverage can be very simple, you just need to have a little imagination and patience.
