Date and Dried Fruit Bars Recipe

FoodsDiary By FoodsDiary

Homemade energy bars without an oven are an easy way to recover energy after training or during a busy day, since they are a perfect option to take hiking or camping for example. These date and nut bars that I share with this article are very easy to make healthy snacks and they last several days in the fridge. All the ingredients have a very high caloric and fat content, therefore, it should not be abused.

Ingredients to make Date and dried fruit bars:

  1. ½ cup of pitted dates
  2. ¼ cup shelled almonds
  3. 50 grams of dark chocolate 80%
  4. ¼ cup of grated coconut (25 grams)

How to make Date and dried fruit bars:

  • Soak the dates in lukewarm water for 30 minutes. Drain them well.
  • In the blender glass, combine the dates, grated coconut, almonds and chocolate and blend everything until a sticky mixture is formed
  • Cut a medium piece of cling film and place it on the counter. Place the mixture of nuts and chocolate on the bottom edge of the film, leaving several inches free from the side edges. Carefully roll up the film, squeezing a little and forming a kind of sausage. Seal the edges as if the homemade no-bake energy bar were a piece of candy.

Tip: Instead of making bars, you can also make date and almond balls with the same mixture.

  • Let the healthy vegan snacks chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
  • After the cooling time, unwrap the roll and cut it into slices. Eat 2-3 slices of the homemade date and nut bars to recharge your batteries.
