Ingredients to make banana and oatmeal mug cake:
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or sunflower or canola oil)
- 5 ripe plantain or banana
- 2 tablespoons brown, white or honey sugar (filled)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons of milk (of your preference)
- 1 pinch of baking powder
- Decorative colored beads
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons oat flakes
How to make banana and oatmeal mug cake:
- Add the egg, sugar or honey and the sliced banana to a cup and mix all the ingredients very well.
- Add the oats and without stirring add the milk, vanilla, cinnamon and baking powder, and now we do mix the oatmeal and banana mug cake very slowly so that the cereal does not jump.
- Tip: Instead of making the mug cake with oat flakes you can do it with 4 tablespoons of flour.
- When everything is mixed, the oatmeal and banana mug cake should be moist and not dry or light. If it was a little dry, add more milk and if it was very wet, add another half tablespoon of oatmeal. It is important that you leave space in the cup as it will rise in the microwave, and you can add colored beads if you feel like it.
- The last step is to put the banana and oatmeal mug cake in the microwave at maximum power. If your appliance is good, 1 minute will be enough, but if not, you will have to put it on for about 3 minutes.
- The banana and oatmeal mug cake has to be dry and firm, so keep an eye on it and if it gets too hot, turn it off for a few seconds and start the microwave again, cook several times. If it goes up a lot, it’s delicious, and if you love oatmeal like I do, you’ll become addicted!
