Heart Shaped Mini Chicken Pot Pies Recipe

These mini chicken cakes were created after a very special date is approaching: Valentine’s Day. We must bear in mind that the filling that we use is the same that was made for the Colombian chicken pie and that you can vary it for any of your preference.

Ingredients to make Mini Chicken Heart Pies:

  • 1 unit of puff pastry dough
  • 250 grams of chicken stuffing
  • 4 units of heart-shaped cookie cutters

How to make Mini Heart Shaped Chicken Pot Pies:

1.Our first step in making this clever Valentine’s Day recipe is to pre-list the ingredients for the recipe.

2.Add a little wheat flour on the table where we are going to work the puff pastry.

3.Stretch our dough and make very thin layers. Then, with the help of a teaspoon, add a little of the chicken filling, leaving enough space to cut the puff pastry for Valentine’s Day.

4.Once we have our filling in the first layer of puff pastry, add another layer on top to cover our Valentine’s appetizers. It should be the way it looks in the photo.

5.Make the cakes with the heart shape cutters. Go cutting pieces as seen in the photo until completing 8 to 10 units of cakes. There are two per guest.

6.Ideally, our appetizers should be left in this way, it is best to verify that the edges are well joined so that in the oven when the dough rises it does not separate from the base.

7.Take each of the mini chicken cakes to an oven tin, preheat it to 180º and prick the surface of the cakes with a fork so that air enters when baking. Put the appetizers in the oven and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. If you want you can add, before baking, a little beaten egg to give a little shine.

8.Serve these delicious Valentine’s Day appetizers decorating our plate with some red flowers, they are ideal to celebrate this long-awaited date and you can accompany them with an aphrodisiac drink such as a red gin and tonic.
