Ingredients to make Bread stuffed with cheese and bacon in the oven:
- 1 bread (better if it is from the day before)
- 100 grams of bacon
- 200 grams of gouda cheese
- For the pesto:
- 30 grams of toasted pine nuts
- 1 clove garlic
- 30 grams of basil leaves
- 1 pinch of salt
- 60 milliliters of extra virgin olive oil
How to make Bread stuffed with cheese and bacon in the oven:
- We start by preparing the pesto sauce. To do this we put all the ingredients in the blender and beat until we obtain an integrated and smooth cream. If we like we can put more or less oil or more or less basil to enhance or mitigate the flavor. We booked
- Tip: If our pine nuts are not toasted, we toast them in a pan without oil, being careful not to burn them.
- Cut the bacon into slices the size of the width of the loaf of bread that we are going to use. Cut the Gouda cheese into slices and reserve
- We take the bread and with a well-sharpened knife we make cuts without reaching the base but as close as possible separated from each other by a centimeter or centimeter and a half at most.
- With the help of a kitchen brush we distribute the pesto in each of the cuts. We distribute the cheese and the bacon in each cut being careful not to split and separate the bread.
- Wrap the bread stuffed with cheese and pesto in aluminum foil and place it in a preheated oven at 200ºC.
- When the cheese is partially melted, we open the aluminum foil so that the bacon of the baked stuffed bread gets crispy and we continue cooking.
