How to make Chocolate Nougat with Oreo Cookies step by step:
- We start by breaking the large cookies into pieces with our hands. I leave the size to your liking, but I advise you to at least make them in four or six pieces each cookie. We booked.
- Remove the lard from the refrigerator and let it lose its cold until it is at room temperature.
- Next, we are going to melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie. To do this, we put a casserole with water and on top of it a metallic or glass bowl in which we are going to place the chopped chocolate. We put it on the fire and, when the water is hot, the chocolate will begin to melt. Stir with the help of a spatula and remove from the heat when it is almost completely melted.
- We keep the bowl inside the casserole of hot water and add the lard that we must have at room temperature. With the heat of the chocolate and the water in the casserole, the butter will soften and after a few minutes we will stir it with the spatula until it is completely melted and forms a homogeneous cream with the chocolate.
- Pour the chopped Oreo cookies and mix well. The bowl remains inside the casserole with hot water so that the mixture remains liquid and is easy to handle when preparing the chocolate nougat and Oreo cookies.
- Remove the bowl from the casserole, dry it well so that no water falls into the mold and pour the preparation into the nougat mold. We smooth the surface with the help of the spatula if necessary and decorate with the mini Oreo cookies.
- Let it cool completely on the kitchen counter and when it’s cold we can cover it with a transparent film and put it in the fridge to finish curdling, or leave it outside even if it takes a little longer to be ready.
- When it has completely solidified, we can wrap it in a nice paper or store it in a tin, if there is anything left over! We can serve it accompanied by other Christmas sweets.
