Ingredients to make homemade meatloaf with puff pastry:
- 150 grams of puff pastry
- ½ onion
- 1 ripe tomato
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 clove garlic
- 250 grams of ground beef
- ½ teaspoon of oregano
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 bay leaf
- 6 tablespoons of Oil
- 1 boiled potato
- 1 tablespoon of wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of Salt and Pepper
How to make Homemade Puff Pastry Meatloaf:
- We ready all the ingredients to prepare our meat loaf and we begin by finely chopping the vegetables, that is, the onion, the pepper, the garlic and the tomato, as seen in the photo.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and make a base sauce with onion, garlic and pepper. After a few minutes, add the meat and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat.
- The ground meat can be veal mixed with a little pork, in a 70/30 ratio to make the meat juicier.
- Next we incorporate the tomato, bay leaf and oregano. We continue cooking over medium heat for another 10 minutes.
- After these 10 minutes, lower the flame to a simmer and add the cooked potato, previously cut into cubes, to the sauce. Also add the mustard and stir everything to form the meat filling, try to undo the potato completely.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- We reserve the ground meat filling on one side and on the other, flour a foot mold and extend the puff pastry sheet. Cut the edges and reserve the leftover dough for decorating the top of our meatloaf.

- Place all the filling inside and with the dough that we have left over we will make strips and put them on our cake. Paint the entire surface with the beaten egg, take special care in the joints of the dough to prevent them from detaching during cooking.
- Cook the meatloaf with puff pastry in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, you will see that the edges are golden. Unmold and enjoy!
