Ingredients to make Salvadoran Rice:
- 3 cups of rice
- 1 can of green peas
- 1 can of corn
- 1 medium potato unit
- Green beans
- 1 unit of Carrot
- 1 unit of Celery
- 1 branch of Coriander
- 1 unit of onion
- 1 unit of tomato
- 1 unit of green Chile (not spicy)
- 1 jet of Oil
- 5 cups of Water (1200 milliliters)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of Annatto or color
How to make Salvadoran Rice:
- Wash and drain the rice. Separately, chop all the vegetables into small squares.
- In a deep saucepan put oil and fry all the chopped vegetables together with the rice. When the rice starts to brown, add the 5 cups of water and let it boil for about 10 minutes.
- Then add the corn and peas. Correct the seasoning and color to taste by adding salt and annatto.
- Cover the rice and cook over low heat until the rice is soft.
- Ready, serve the Salvadoran rice and accompany it with meat, chicken or fish and a fresh salad
