Ingredients to make Baked Stuffed Mussels:

  • 500 grams of mussels
  • ½ unit of chives
  • 1 piece of red pepper
  • 8 units of Surimi
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • ½ cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 splash of olive oil
  • For the béchamel
  • 3 tablespoons of Butter
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 glasses of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 unit of egg yolk

How to make Baked Stuffed Mussels:

  1. To prepare the baked stuffed mussels, we must gather all the ingredients.
  2. We wash the mussels with cold water and remove the impurities.
  3. We put the mussels in a potat high temperature, until they open.
  4. Once open, we remove the meat of the mussels from the shells and reserve. The shells must be very clean.
  5. Chop and fry the spring onion and red pepper. We season.
  6. Chop the meat of the mussels and the Surimi, and add it to the sauce.
  7. We cook a couple of minutes.
  8. Prepare the béchamelfor the baked stuffed mussels.
  9. Heat three tablespoons of oil or butter in a pot, add the flour while stirring.
  10. After 2 minutes we add the flour, add the milk, salt and pepper. When thick add the egg yolk and mix.
  11. Mix the béchamel with the sauce, fill the shells and cover with breadcrumbs.
  12. Bake at 180ºCuntil golden brown.
