The potato cake with bacon and cheese is an ideal dish for children. This recipe can be prepared to taste with some meat or roast. Learn the simple step by step and you will surprise your children with the delicious dish.

Ingredients to make Potato Pie with Bacon and Cheese:

  • 500 grams of Potatoes
  • 100 grams of smoked bacon
  • 200 milliliters of Cream
  • 1 unit of Egg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 120 grams of Cheese in slices
  • 80 grams of grated cheese

How to make Potato Pie with Bacon and Cheese:

  1. We gather all the ingredients to make the potato cake with bacon and cheese.
  2. Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into thin slices. We are arranging them in a baking dish with the base greased with a little olive oil. Add salt to the potato layer.
  3. Next, we arrange the cheese in slices on the potatoes. We have used a soft light cheese but you can also use any cheese that melts well.
  4. Now we have the bacon on the cheese. We can put it in slices or chopped into cubes. We put a layer of potatoes, another of cheese and another of bacon.
  5. We beat the egg with the cream, add a little salt and cover the potato cake. If you like you can also add a little nutmeg and ground pepper.
  6. We put grated cheese and put in the oven for 50 minutes at 180ºC. You can use Mental, Parmesan or any semi-cured cheese that you fancy.
  7. Tip: We recommend covering the potato pie with silver foil so that it does not get too toasted, since it will be in the oven for almost an hour. 
  8. The last 5 minutes you can remove the paper and grill.
  9. This delicious potato cake with bacon and cheese can be an accompaniment to any meat or simply an ideal main course for dinner.
