Potato and meat pie with cheese recipe

Do you have guests at home and want to surprise them with a different recipe? You are in the right place! This time I’m going to teach you how to cook this delicious potato pie stuffed with meat and cheese. It is very easy to make, you just have to prepare a basic meat stir-fry, fry the potatoes and find a mold to assemble the cake, easy right? Don’t think about it anymore and get down to work!

Ingredients to make Potato and meat pie with cheese:

  • 750 grams of honeyed beef
  • 750 grams of potatoes
  • 1 unit of onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 jet of Oil
  • 100 grams of Bacon in slices
  • 200 milliliters of tomato sauce
  • 200 milliliters of meat broth
  • 1 glass of scented wine
  • 1 handful of aromatic herbs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of Pepper

How to make Potato and Cheese Meat Pie:

  1. Take the onion and garlic and chop them finely. Then, we put a pan with oil to heat and sauté them until the onion becomes transparent.
  2. Add the meat cut into small pieces and sauté everything together until golden brown. When it is ready, we reserve it for later.
  3. Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry it in a non-stick pan.
  4. When done, add them to the meat sauce and put it back on the heat.
  5. Add all the ingredients in the pan with the meat broth and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. After the time has elapsed, we continue with the preparation of the potato and meat pie with cheese and add the tomato sauce, the wine and the aromatic herbs.
  7. We remove and check if it is well flavored to rectify with salt and pepper.
  8. Now, we peel the potatoes and cut them into slices, the thinner the better.
  9. Add salt to taste and heat a pan with oil. When hot, lightly fry the potatoes, being careful not to break them.
  10. When they are done, drain them well to remove excess oil, take a tray with a high edge or a round mold and line it with the potato slices without leaving any gaps.
  11. So that they are well attached to each other, we press with our fingers.
  12. Thus, we will form the outer part of the potato and meat pie.
  13. Now that we have the “chest” done, let’s fill it in. To do this, we distribute the meat sauce evenly and cover with more slices of potatoes.
  14. Assembled the potato and meat pie, paint the surface with a little oil and bake it at 200ºC for approximately 30-35 minutes, until the potatoes are golden.
  15. If you want, you can sprinkle some grated cheese so that it is gratin in the oven.
  16. When ready, we serve the hot potato and meatloaf with cheese. I have decorated it with flowers made with potato slices, but you can add the decoration that you like the most
