This time it’s time to vary the menu with a recipe invented by chance that is exquisite: the potato and ham lasagna. Sometimes we really want to cook a particular dish. In our case, pasta is always an extraordinary ally. We love it in all its forms, types, with or without eggs, fresh homemade pasta…, the truth is that we wouldn’t like it that much even if we were Italians. Well, the last time we wanted to make traditional lasagna, with its meat, its béchamel for lasagna, it turned out that we had run out of lasagna sheets. And on top of that we didn’t have time to make the fresh pasta recipe. So we looked to see what ingredients we could use to substitute in this culinary emergency.

In the end we decided on potato lasagna and instead of meat, York ham. We have to say that we loved the result. Made in the oven it is delicious, it has a point between crunchy and soft that will not leave you indifferent. we encourage you to prepare the potato and ham lasagna, a simple express recipe that the whole family will like.

Ingredients to make Ham and Potato Lasagna:

  • 2 units of potatoes
  • 8 slices of York ham
  • 12 slices of cheese to melt
  • 100 grams of grated cheese
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 60 milliliters of Oil
  • 1 handful of oregano

How to make Potato and Ham Lasagna:

  1. Before getting down to the potato lasagna, we present the ingredients that we are going to need
  2. Peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices, about half a centimeter. These sheets will be the pasta for our ham and cheese lasagna.
  3. To assemble the dish, we place a first layer of potatoes in a refractory mold, brushing lightly with oil.
  4. Next, we place a second layer of York ham and on this; we have the layer of cheese to melt
  5. The cooked ham can be replaced by any other sausage, such as braised turkey or even sliced ​​chicken.
  6. We repeat the process putting layers until we finish with all the ingredients. The last layer of our lasagna should be potatoes. Season with salt and oil.
  7. We cover with abundant grated cheese and a pinch of oregano. We heat the oven to 200ºC.
  8. Cook the potato and ham lasagna in the already hot oven, lowering the temperature to 180 ºC for half an hour. Let it temper before serving.
