Ingredients to make Chinese Cantonese Rice:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 2 units of Egg
  • 5 slices of cooked ham
  • 50 grams of boiled peas
  • 2 units of onion
  • 1 jet of Oil
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make Chinese Cantonese Rice:

  1. Wash the rice well in several waters until no trace of starch remains. Put the rice in a saucepan along with the same amount of water and bring to a boil with the saucepan hermetically closed to prevent steam from escaping.
  2. Cook over medium heat until the water is consumed. Lower the heat to a minimum, put a diffuser plate on top and the casserole on it. Keep a few minutes until the rice is cooked. Reserve.
  3. Beat the eggs and form a very thin tortilla. Cut it into thin strips. Trim the fat from the ham and also cut into strips.
  4. Heat oil in a large frying pan and lightly sauté the chopped onions. Add the rice, tortilla strips, ham and peas. Season with a little salt and sauté for a few moments, stirring constantly.
  5. Note: This Cantonese rice is best cooked the day before. Prawns or pieces of Surimi can be added and served with a little soy sauce or sweet and sour sauce. You can accompany this Chinese rice recipe with sweet and sour chicken.
