If there is a classic pasta recipe that we all start experimenting with, it is the one that includes cream, bacon and mushrooms, which many people tend to confuse with pasta carbonara but have nothing to do with it. That does not mean that this classic recipe from our kitchen is not delicious and deserves its place as a simple dish, quick to prepare and very tasty. If you haven’t tried it yet, don’t wait any longer! Take good note of the recipe for pasta with bacon and onion and get to it.
Ingredients to make Pasta with bacon and onion:
- 150 grams of fusilli
- 1 onion
- 200 grams of bacon
- 250 grams of mushrooms
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of minced garlic
- 200 milliliters of cooking cream or heavy cream
- 1 splash of white wine
How to make Pasta with bacon and onion:
- Boil the pasta by putting a pot of water on the fire and adding it when it starts to boil. Cook, stirring from time to time, until the pasta is al dente, or what is the same, cooked but firm, without becoming excessively soft. Drain the water and reserve.
- Clean and slice the mushrooms while the pasta cooks. If you prefer, you can cut them smaller, to your liking!
- Peel and finely chop the onion and put it on the fire in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil. When it starts to get transparent, we add the mushrooms to sauté them.
- Add a splash of white wine and keep the pan on the heat until the mushrooms are almost done.
- Cut the bacon into strips and, when the mushrooms are almost done, add them to the pan. Season with a pinch of ground garlic, stir well and let cook for five minutes to continue with the recipe for pasta with bacon and onion.
- Add the well-drained pasta, mix and add the cream or heavy cream. Stir the fusilli in white sauce well and season with salt.
- Cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. We immediately serve the fusilli with bacon and onion, and enjoy a rich and simple pasta dish!
