How to make Tuna with onion and tomato:

  1. In order to make the recipe for tuna with onion and tomato, list the ingredients.
  2. To make the sauce for the fish, take a deep pot over medium heat, add a teaspoon of olive oil and, when hot, add half of the coarsely chopped red onion, the tomatoes, the thyme, salt, pepper and the juice of the oranges. Add the cornstarch to thicken the sauce, add the white wine and cook for approximately 15 minutes. Let the preparation cool down and blend the ingredients to obtain a finer sauce.
  3. Trick: Add a pinch of sugar to remove the acid from the tomato.
  4. Before blending the tomato sauce, marinate the tuna steaks with a little black pepper, thyme and white wine. Take the container to the fridge or refrigerator while you blend the tomato sauce.
  5. After a few minutes of marinating, add salt to each of the tuna steaks and set them aside.
  6. Bring a frying pan over medium heat with a little olive oil; cut the other half of the purple onion into julienne strips and sauté it with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. To make the tuna with onions, add the fish fillets to the pan when the onion turns transparent. Remember that you should not overcook any type of fish so that it is juicy when you eat it.
  8. Add the homemade tomato sauce to the pan where the tuna steaks are and let it keep for about 5 more minutes. When the sauce has reduced to a bit and is thicker, remove the preparation from the heat.
  9. Serve the tuna with onion and tomato, bathing each plate with the homemade sauce. I added a touch of green to give the plate a bit of color.
