  • 200 cubic centimeters of skimmed milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 dessert spoon of nutmeg
  • ½ dessert spoon of paprika
  • 1 onion
  • 40 grams of grated cheese
  • 1 egg

How to make Tuna and corn tart:

  1. Peel and chop the onion. Then, caramelize it with your own sugar. To do this, brown it in a nonstick skillet with cooking spray over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of water and stir sporadically until it evaporates. Repeat this procedure as many times as you want until you get very tender and sweet onions.
  2. Dissolve the tablespoon of cornstarch in the cold milk to make the white sauce. Microwave for 1 minute, stir and heat for 30 more seconds. If you see that it still hasn’t thickened, stir and heat for another 20 seconds. The time will depend on the power of your microwave.
  3. You can also make it in a nonstick pot over low heat, stirring until thickened.
  4. To make the filling, mix the tuna with the corn, the onion, the white sauce and season to taste.
  5. Only when you have tried and liked the filling of your tuna and corn tart add the egg and integrate it. At this point, preheat the oven to 200ºC.
  6. Line the mold with the dough and cover the bottom of it with oats, breadcrumbs or cornmeal. This will absorb the moisture from the filling so that the base is crispy.
  7. So that your tuna and corn cake is 100% homemade
  8. Tip: our mold is approximately 20 cm in diameter.
  9. Fill the cake and make repulgues to close it. When it is ready, bake it at 200ºC for 20-25 minutes.
  10. After these minutes, if you want and like it, you can add grated cheese and put it back in the oven so that it is gratin. This will make you get a tuna and creamy corn cake that is even more delicious due to the combination of textures (the crunchy cheese with the creamy corn).
