Ingredients to make Vegetable Calzone:
- 1 unit of pizza dough
- ½ can of tomato sauce
- ½ onion unit
- ½ unit of green pepper
- 1 unit of Carrot
- ½ zucchini unit
- 100 grams of blue cheese
- 2 handfuls of grated cheese
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of oregano
- 1 jet of Oil
How to make Vegetable Calzone:
- These are the necessary ingredients to prepare the pizza calzone stuffed with vegetables. We have made the dough following this pizza dough recipe.
- You can choose the vegetables to your liking.
- The grated cheese is a mixture of mozzarella and mental, and we also add a little blue cheese to obtain a more succulent pizza, although it is totally optional.
- Wash and dice all the vegetables and fry themin a pan with a little oil. 10 minutes over medium heat will suffice, because then they will finish cooking in the oven.
- If you have gone too far with the oil, let them rest for a bit on absorbent kitchen paper, to remove excess fat.
- Tip:Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- With the help of a rolling pin, we roll out the pizza doughthat we will then fold on itself to make the calzone, enclosing the delicious mixture of vegetables and cheeses inside.
- Ideally, it should be round, but you can also opt for an elliptical shape.
- Spread the tomato sauce over the entire surface of the dough and add a little salt and oregano.
- Then we have the vegetables on top, the crumbled blue cheese and also the grated cheese.
- We place these ingredients only on one half of the pizza, to facilitate the task of folding on itself.
- We fold the pizza doughon itself forming a crescent and close the edges. The vegetable calzone is now ready to be baked.
- At 180ºC, 10-15 minuteswill suffice.
- The important thing is to control it and take it out when it is golden. I had it in the oven for 13 minutes.
- We serve the calzone stuffed with vegetables and cheeseimmediately, to enjoy it piping hot, along with a glass of red wine.
