Ingredients to make river trout with salted ham:

  • 2 medium trout
  • 2 slices of salted ham
  • salted
  • Sunflower oil for frying
  • flower

How to make river trout with salted ham:

  1. Clean the trout well, if they haven’t done it at the fishmonger (save the remains for the cat if you have them, they like them a lot), and let them drain.
  2. Put the flour on a plate. Heat the oil in a frying pan. While it’s heating:
  3. Salt the trout on the outside.
  4. Put inside each trout a slice of salted ham. Close each one with a toothpick so that they open. Flour them.
  5. Fry the trout, so that they are golden brown on both sides, making sure that they do not break when turning them over.
  6. Put them on a plate lined with kitchen paper to remove any excess oil. Serve freshly cooked with a slice of lemon and a little fried tomato or mayonnaise.
