Baked Spaghetti Recipe with Tomato, Cheese and Fresh Sausages

Pasta is one of the most versatile ingredients in the kitchen and also one of the most accepted at the table since there are few who resist it. I share one of my favorite recipes that combine typical ingredients from various countries in the Mediterranean basin to create a delicious and irresistible dish. Based on the classic recipe for spaghetti with tomato and sausage that we all ate when we were little, I propose this recipe for baked spaghetti with tomato, feta cheese and fresh chicken sausage that is uncomplicated and full of flavors.

Ingredients to make Baked Spaghetti with tomato, feta cheese and fresh sausages:

  1. 150 grams of spaghetti
  2. 400 grams of fresh chicken sausages
  3. 4 large ripe tomatoes
  4. 1 onion
  5. 250 grams of feta cheese
  6. 30 grams of grated cheese to gratin
  7. 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
  8. 1 pinch of salt
  9. 1 pinch of sweet smoked paprika
  10. 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  11. 4 garlic cloves

How to make Baked Spaghetti with Tomatoes, Feta Cheese and Fresh Sausages:

  • We start by putting water to heat in a saucepan. When it starts to boil, add the spaghetti and cook until al dente(cooked but firm without being excessively soft). We drain and reserve.
  • While the pasta is being made, we begin to prepare the tomato sauce. To do this, peel the onion and chop it very finely. Heat a frying pan with a drizzle of olive oil, add the onion and sauté.
  • Peel and chop the garlic clovesand add them to the pan along with the onion. Peel and chop the tomatoes and put them in the pan as well. Stir well and leave on the fire.
  • Add the paprika, salt to taste and a little pepper. Mix well and let cook until the sauce for the baked spaghetti gratin is made. We booked
  • In a frying pan we put a few drops of oil and we take it to the fire. We put the fresh chicken sausages and grill them. We withdraw and reserve.
  • Trick: We can also make them in the pan instead of on the grill, and they can be pork, beef, and turkey or mixed.
  • In the pan where we have prepared the sauce for the baked pasta with sausages (if it is large enough or, failing that, in a larger pan) add the pasta and mix well with the sauce over low heat.
  • Cut the fried sausages into pieces, add them to the pan and stir. Let cook for a few minutes. While we split the feta cheese into cubes.
  • Pour half of the spaghetti with tomato into an ovenproof dish and place half of the feta cheese cubes on top. Then we put the rest of the pasta and put the rest of the feta cheese and a little grated cheese to gratin.
  • We put the spaghetti in the oven with tomato, feta cheese and fresh sausages(preheated to 180ºC) and bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Good appetite!
