Vegan Russian Steaks with Lentils and Oats Recipe

FoodsDiary By FoodsDiary

These lentil and oatmeal fillets that I bring are very nutritious and tasty. They will be the perfect option for your lunch or dinner thanks to their high protein and fiber content and zero cholesterol. We are going to use the crushed oat flakes so that the lentils stick and the vegan Russian steaks do not fall apart, instead of using the breadcrumbs. The result is compact fillets with a lot of flavor that you can not only serve as a dish accompanied by vegetables, rice or pasta, but also inside a sandwich or hamburger.

Ingredients to make Vegan Oatmeal Lentil Russian Steaks:

  • 1 cup of cooked lentils
  • ½ cup of rolled oats
  • 1 onion
  • ½ red bell pepper
  • ½ crushed tomato
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

How to make Vegan Oatmeal Lentil Russian Steaks:

1.Finely chop the onion, garlic, pepper and basil. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the vegetables until medium soft. Add the crushed tomato and continue frying until the vegetables are ready and the tomato has reduced a bit.

2.Crush the oat flakes in the blender for several seconds so that they are very finely chopped but do not turn into powder.

3.In a bowl put the cooked lentils, the soffit, the salt and the crushed oats. Knead with your hands and form lentil fillets or burgers.

4.Heat a frying pan with a little oil and cook the vegan fillets on both sides until golden brown.

Tip: You can also bake them for half an hour at 180 degrees.

5.Serve the vegan Russian steaks freshly made.
