How to make Colored Spaghetti for Kids:

  1. The first step to prepare the fun colored spaghetti is to prepare the ingredients.
  2. Keep in mind that you can usually find food coloring in the confectionery sectionof the supermarket or specialized stores.
  3. The dye will only add color at no time does it change the flavor of the food so don’t worry about it.
  4. With this in mind, we proceed to make the pasta for childrenin the traditional way.
  5. To do this, boil water with a little salt and when it starts to boil, cook the spaghetti for about 7-8 minutes.
  6. You can add a few basil leaves to the water; they will give a wonderful flavor to the spaghetti.
  7. When the pasta is al dente, add a little oil to the pot and stir, this will prevent the spaghetti from sticking. Pass through a strainer and wash with a good stream of water.
  8. If you are wondering now how to paint the spaghetti, then the answer is below. First divide the pasta into two halves and place it in plastic bags.
  9. I have divided it into two because I will paint the spaghetti in two colors, but you can divide it into the number of colors you want for your spaghetti.
  10. Now, add in each bag a couple of tablespoons of water and food coloring with the following combination:
  11. For the blue color, 20 drops of blue food coloring, for the violet, 15 drops of red food coloring and 5 drops of blue.
  12. Close the bags and mix well. Go shaking the bag and you will see how the color begins to spread little by little.
  13. Do not be alarmed if you see that the color is not uniform, keep stirring and the color will change.
  14. When it already has the color, take the paste out of the bags and pass it through the strainer.
  15. With this same procedure you can paint any type of paste.
  16. Now brush it with a little butter and enjoy!
  17. Although to finish this recipe I have completed it with some octopus-shaped sausages. To make them, cut some sausages as shown in the photograph.
  18. Then take it to a hot frying panwith a little oil and when they start to cook you will see how the tentacles that you have previously cut open.
  19. All that remains is to decorate the plate with a lot of imagination and serve the colored spaghettiaccompanied by a good mango smoothie to enjoy a fun and healthy meal with your children
