Surely more than one listens to peas and starts to sweat. However, cooked with a little grace, they offer us many possibilities and give us dishes that are very tasty as well as being quite healthy.
The recipe for peas with ham and white wine that I am sharing this time is one of my favorites, although I have to admit that until I was of a certain age I was one of those who didn’t even try peas… what I have been losing!
If you want a rich dish for this summer (and also in winter, for the record!) and to help you maintain your figure, don’t lose sight of these peas with ham!
Ingredients to make Peas with ham and white wine:
- 500 grams of Peas
- 100 grams of Serrano ham
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 vegetable stock cube
- 1 pinch of Pepper
- 1 splash of white wine
- ½ glass of water
How to make Peas with ham and white wine
- The first step we have to do to make these peas with ham and white wine is to put a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil in a wide pan and heat it.
- Add the peas (they can be canned, frozen or natural, as you prefer) and the shredded vegetable stock cube and stir well.
- Add a splash of white wine and approximately half a glass of water.
- Cover and let the peas cook over medium-low heat. We remove from time to time to check that they have not run out of liquid and they stick to us.
- Tip: If necessary, add more water so that the peas remain soft.
- When the peas are almost soft, add the diced Serrano ham and a pinch of black pepper. If necessary we rectify salt.
- We serve our peas with ham and white wine as a starter, and we can now enjoy them!
- I recommend a dish of baked lemon chicken with potatoes or Andalusia garlic tenderloin as a main course.
