- 2 cups of cooked white rice
- 1 cup of cooked black beans
- 1 unit of peppers or green paprika
- 1 unit of white onion
- 1 unit of ripe banana
- 1 teaspoon of olive oil
- 1 pinch of garlic paste
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of black pepper
How to make Cuban Rice with Beans:
- Our first step to make the Cuban rice recipe is to prepare the ingredients.
- Cook the beans in a pressure cooker until soft and set aside.
- Remember that you must soak the grains in water from the night before.
- Trick: If you don’t have a pressure or express cooker, you can cook the beans in a normal pot, simply extend the cooking time
- Bring a frying pan over medium heat with the olive oil and make the base sauce.
- Add the white onion and the finely chopped bell pepper or paprika, sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the cooked black beans, salt, black pepper and garlic paste to taste to the stir fry. Mix the ingredients well.
- Add the white rice to the pan where we have the rest of the ingredients and mix very well.
- To make this recipe you can use the rice that you have left over from another preparation or make simple white rice.
- Separately, bring a pan with enough oil to fry over medium heat and once hot, add the diced ripe plantain.
- Cook well until golden.
- Remove our banana to a plate where you have absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
- Finally, add the plantains to our rice with beans and integrate well with our Cuban recipe.
- Serve the Cuban rice with beans adding a little sprinkled parsley on top to decorate.
