Colombian style rice with shrimp recipe

Ingredients to make Colombian style rice with shrimp:

  • 2 cups of white rice
  • 1 pound of shrimp
  • 1 unit of white onion
  • 1 cup of beans or cooked peas
  • 1 cup of beans
  • 1 pinch of garlic paste
  • 3 units of tomatoes
  • 100 grams of long or green onion
  • 1 unit of red bell pepper or paprika
  • 2 teaspoons of fresh parsley
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper

How to make Colombian Style Shrimp Rice:

  1. Our first step to make the rice with shrimp recipe is to prepare the ingredients.
  2. First we are going to make a base sauce.
  3. To do this, take a deep pot over medium heat with a tablespoon of olive oil, add the finely chopped pepper and tomato.
  4. Sauté for a few minutes.
  5. Add the long onion with salt, black pepper and garlic paste to taste.
  6. Sauté very well until the ingredients of the base sauce are integrated.
  7. Add the peas, beans and white rice to the pot where we have our base sauce.
  8. Stir everything with a wooden spoon until the rice is impregnated with the flavors of the stir-fry.
  9. Tip: If you want you can add a pinch of cumin to flavor our recipe.
  10. Finally, add the shrimp and a cup of water so that they cook evenly with the ingredients that we added in the previous step.
  11. Let keep until the shrimp are cooked well. Put out the fire.
  12. Tip: If you want to give this Colombian recipe an additional touch, add coconut milk instead of water.
  13. Serve the rice with shrimp sprinkling some fresh parsley on top.
