Ingredients to make ripe plantain stuffed with ground beef and cheese:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 150 grams of ground beef
  • 80 grams of red pepper
  • 80 grams of white onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 red tomato
  • 1 pinch of cumin
  • 2 sheets of mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire willow
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of Oil

How to make ripe plantain stuffed with ground beef and cheese:

  1. Before making this Colombian meat-stuffed plantain recipe, the first step is to prepare all the ingredients.
  2. Arrange the whole and peeled ripe plantain on a tray with a little oil, salt and pepper, and bake it at 200ºC for 40 minutes.
  3. Separately, in a pot with oil, fry the onion and the pepper, both ingredients finely cut, until they are soft.
  4. Then, add the skinless tomato and the finely cut garlic, mix everything, add salt and pepper and cover; let it cook over low heat until the tomato releases its juices.
  5. Now, add the ground beef, the Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of cumin, salt and pepper, mix and cook over high heat until the meat is completely browned.
  6. When it is ready, reserve it to continue with the preparation of the ripe plantain stuffed with cheese and meat.
  7. When the banana is ready, open it in half and fill it with the meat.
  8. Arrange the cheese slices on top and return the banana to the oven until the cheese is completely melted.
