- 1 cup of rice
- 1 unit of coconut
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
How to make Rice with coastal coconut:
- Before making this recipe, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready. Keep in mind that for this Colombian recipe you must use natural coconut.
- Break the coconut very carefully, with the help of a hammer if necessary. Remove the water, peel it, grate it and blend it with two cups of hot water.
- Next, strain the coconut milk very well and reserve it.
- Add the two cups of coconut milk to a pot, cook over low heat until they break a boil, add the sugar and salt.
- Finally add the rice and cook over medium heat until the coconut milk evaporates. Cover and continue cooking over very low heat for another 30 minutes.
