Beans with pork recipe

Beans with pork is a Yucatecan recipe, from Mexico, but the ingredients and preparation that you will see below is a mixture of Venezuelan cuisine. This recipe has black beans, pork, and rice for a very complete dish that yields a lot. I hope you like it, it is an easy dish to prepare, delicious and fresh.

Ingredients to make Beans with pork:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 500 grams of Beans
  • ½ kilogram of Pork
  • ½ onion unit
  • ½ unit of red paprika
  • ½ unit of green bell pepper
  • 1 branch of Apatite
  • 1 pinch of cumin
  • 1 pinch of Salt and Pepper
  • 1 pinch of oregano
  • ½ onion unit
  • Pico de Gallo
  • 1 branch of Coriander
  • 2 units of tomato
  • ½ onion unit

How to make Beans with Pork:

  1. To make the beans, leave them soaking overnight.
  2.  On the day of preparation, place in a pot with water until it covers them and cook until they are soft.
  3.  To make them faster they can be done in a pressure cooker or express cooker.
  4. Trick: Black beans are called beans in Venezuela and other Caribbean countries
  5. Meanwhile, finely chop all the vegetables. Set aside half the onion and tomato to make a Pico de Gallo. The rest will be used for beans. You can use half red and half green paprika or a whole red paprika, it depends on what you have at home.
  6. When the beans are almost ready, add the vegetables and minced meat.
  7. Stir everything well and season with the spices and the apatite, correct the seasoning if necessary.
  8. The latter is an aromatic herb that is not found everywhere, so if you don’t have it, it doesn’t matter.
  9. When it starts to boil, separate two cups of the broth from the caratoras and reserve.
  10. Meanwhile, continue cooking until they are comfortable and the meat is completely done.
  11. The beans can be left with a very liquid or thicker broth, both ways are delicious.
  12. With those two cups of broth prepare the rice.
  13. You can make a sauce with onion and garlic, add the rice, a little salt and the broth, if some beans are strained it does not matter.
  14.  Let it simmer and turn off when the rice is ready. It should be black.
  15. To make the Pico de Gallo, mix the tomato, onion, cilantro, and lemon juice. All finely chopped with a little salt.
  16. To eat beans with pork, serve rice on the plate, some black beans with meat, Pico de Gallo and corn tortillas.
