Ingredients to make Chipotle Fried Mojarra:

  • 4 pieces of Mojarra medina
  • 1 can of Chile chipotle in adobo sauce
  • 1 piece of white onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 cups of sour cream
  • ½ cup of whole milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of Pepper
  • ½ cup of Oil
  • To accompany:
  • Carrot
  • Lettuce
  • Purple Onion
  • Red tomato

How to make Chipotle Fried Mojarra:

  1. In the following image you can see the ingredients that we will need to prepare this incredibly delicious chipotle fried mojarra.
  2. To begin we take our molars and clean they very well, if they are already sold to us clean, perfect, but if not, then we remove everything inside and remove the scales. Once clean, we make two small cuts on each side of the fish with the help of a knife, like the ones seen in the image, and season our white fish very well with salt and pepper, adding salt and pepper on both sides of the fish and inside as well.   3. Now we take the white onion and the garlic cloves and chop them very finely, as we can see in the following image.
  4. On the other hand, we take the chipotles, the sour cream , the milk, one of the garlic cloves and a piece of onion and place them in the blender, we proceed to blend until obtaining a homogeneous sauce for the fried mojarra , which we will reserve a moment.
  5. Once everything is ready, we take the onion and the garlic clove that we chopped and put them in a pan with a little previously heated oil, let them fry.
  6. Once the garlic is golden, we take our mojarras and fry them in this oil flavored with garlic and onion, let it fry for 1 minute on each side.
  7. Once this is ready, we add the chipotle sauce and let our fish finish cooking over medium heat in this sauce. We will know that it is ready when the fish feels soft and comes off easily.
  8. And READY! we serve this delicious dish of hot chipotle fried mojarra and accompanied with some delicious croutons or with a delicious salad. For example, I accompanied it with a salad that has lettuce, red tomato, carrot and red onion, it looks great.
