Chickpeas with Minced Meat Recipe

The recipe for chickpeas with minced meat and vegetables that we share is easy and healthy, economical and fast. We have prepared it with dried chickpeas, but it can also be made with canned chickpeas, shortening the time even more. Likewise, we have used a pressure cooker to speed up the process.

Ingredients to make Chickpeas with minced meat:

  • 300 grams of chickpeas
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 200 grams of minced meat
  • 100 grams of peas
  • 100 grams of green beans
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 pinch of thyme
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika

How to make Chickpeas with minced meat:

1 We leave all the ingredients ready to prepare the chickpea stew with minced meat faster. In this sense, we can use pork, beef or a mixture of both. On the other hand, it is very important to leave the chickpeas in water the night before. If we use canned chickpeas, already cooked, this will not be necessary.

2 If we use dried chickpeas, drain them, place them in the pressure cooker, cover them with clean water and add bay leaves, thyme and salt to taste. Cover the pot and cook the chickpeas for approximately 40-45 minutes, over medium heat.

3 Separately, we crush the tomato and the peeled onion, and transfer the mixture to a hot frying pan with a splash of olive oil. In parallel, we boil the green beans and peas.

4 Cook for a couple of minutes and add the minced meat. Mix and add to the sauce.

5 Add chopped bay leaf, sweet paprika to taste and the minced or crushed garlic clove. We mix everything and distribute the ground meat very well.

6 Add the chopped green beans and peas already cooked and drained. Remove and let cook over low heat for about 10 minutes.

7 After the time, we add the cooked and drained chickpeas, and cook for 10-15 more minutes so that the sauce of the chickpeas with minced meat reduces a little.

8 When ready, we serve the recipe for chickpeas with minced meat and vegetables immediately to enjoy it piping hot. We have chosen these vegetables for the preparation, but the truth is that they can be added or replaced by carrot, green pepper, leek… And to accompany, a green salad or an avocado salad.
