Ingredients to make Strawberry Jam:

  • 1 kilogram of ripe strawberries
  • 400 grams of sugar (2 cups)
  • 1 lemon

How to make Strawberry Jam:

  1. Wash the strawberries well, remove the green leaves and the white part. Chop the strawberries into small pieces.
  2. Put the chopped strawberries in the casserole where you are going to cook them, add the sugar and the juice of a lemon. Let it rest for about 30 minutes, it will release a little water.
  3. When this time has passed, it will have released liquid. Put the casserole over medium heat and let it cook for 30-40 minutesor until it looks good, discard all the strawberry. Go stirring from time to time.
  4. Go stirringso it doesn’t stick, if it makes a little foam on the surface, go removing it with a spoon.
  5. When you see that it is, put out the fire. If you don’t like finding chunks, mash before the strawberry jam cools.
  6.  If you like it to look more natural, mash it with the help of a fork or, if you have the device to mash cooked potatoes, that works very well. You can crush everything until no pieces are visible.
  7. When the jam is ready, prepare some very clean and dry jars, fill them with the jam and let it cool, close the jars and the strawberry jam will be ready to eat.
  8. With these quantities, 2 boats come out. It keeps well in the fridge or you can freeze it. To make them last longer, you can vacuum seal the jars.
