Ingredients to make Baked Cod with Gratin Mayonnaise:

  • 2 kilograms of dry cod
  • 3 dessert spoons of Butter
  • 3 dessert spoons of olive oil
  • 3 pieces of red pepper
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch of Pepper

How to make Baked Cod with Gratin Mayonnaise:

  1. In the following image you can see the ingredients that we will need to prepare our delicious baked cod with gratin mayonnaise.
  2. We are going to start our preparation by placing the cod in water to remove the excess salt it contains due to its conservation method, we call this DE phlegm or desalination. We left it in the water for approximately 15 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, on the other hand, we are going to start preparing the delicious garlic croutons: for this we take two cloves of garlic and chop them finely, place them in a hot pan where we will have melting butter and let them fry for 3 minutes.
  4. Once the butter is flavored with garlic, place the pieces of bread on the pan so that they absorb the flavor of the garlic butter. Once we do the same with all the pieces of bread on both sides, we reserve them for a moment.
  5. On the other hand, and once our cod is deflated, place olive oil in a pan, let it heat up, and once ready, add one of the remaining finely chopped garlic to fry. Once the garlic is browned, we place the cod pieces on the pan to seal the meat and impregnate it with garlic flavor.
  6. Once all our code is sealed, we reserve it for a moment.
  7. Now we take the same pan where the cod was sealed and add more olive oil and the remaining finely chopped garlic, let them fry for two minutes and add the red pepper. We let these ingredients integrate and fry until the pepper is soft.
  8. Once the pepper is soft, add the mayonnaise, integrate the ingredients and let it season for approximately 3 minutes over medium heat. Once this time has passed, we remove it from the heat.
  9. Now we take our baking dish, spray it with a little spray oil, and place the croutons and the cod pieces inside it, each bathed separately in a little of the garlic pepper and mayonnaise mixture. Then we take the cod to the oven for 20 minutes at 180°C.
  10. After this time we have READY! Our baked cod gratin. You can serve the baked cod with gratin mayonnaise accompanied with the croutons, or on top of the croutons, either way it is delicious. Good appetite!
