Persimmon Custard Recipe

FoodsDiary By FoodsDiary

On this occasion, we propose you some persimmon and chocolate custard. They may sound a bit strange, since these fruits are not very popular and their shelf life is short, but their sweet flavor and fleshy pulp make them an excellent choice for desserts. In addition, persimmons have antioxidant properties, lots of vitamins and fiber, so we can take advantage of this persimmon custard recipe to benefit from its qualities.

Once you prepare them, you will realize that they are very good. If you make them with cocoa, the flavor of the persimmon won’t be very noticeable, but the result will be a custard with a good consistency. On the other hand, they are a very healthy dessert option, since it is not necessary to add sugar if the fruits are ripe. With only 10 minutes of preparation and a couple of hours in the fridge you will have them ready to eat, so don’t waste any more time and discover how to make persimmon custard step by step.

Ingredients to make Persimmon Custard:

  • 3 ripe persimmons
  • 1 natural creamy yogurt (can be sweetened)
  • 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder

How to make Persimmon Custard:

  1. To prepare the persimmon custard, start by peeling the fruits or scooping out the pulp with the help of a spoon.
  2. Go placing the persimmon in a blender glass, a kitchen robot or a grinder.
  3. In the blender glass put the chopped persimmons, the yogurt and the tablespoons of cocoa.
  4. The yogurt must be thick to give it that touch of creaminess. If you prefer a dairy-free option, plain Greek yogurt works great.
  5. Blend everything until you get a creamy mixture.
  6. Before scooping the persimmon custard into serving cups or glasses, taste a bit to see how sweet or chocolaty it is.
  7. You can add a few drops of sweetener if you like the custard sweeter. If you like them with a more chocolate flavor, you can add more 70% cocoa and no added sugar.
  8. Beat again so that the extra ingredients you add are mixed well.
  9. Put the persimmon custard cream in a few glasses or cups. With these amounts you will get about 4-5 glasses.
  10. Leave them in the fridge for a couple of hours and they will be ready. Accompany them with cookies, grated coconut, chopped fruits or whatever you like.
