Ingredients to make Lentils with Bacon and Potatoes:

  • 300 grams of previously hydrated lentils.
  • 4 units of ripe tomatoes.
  • 5 units of potatoes.
  • Bay leaves.
  • Thyme leaves.
  • 2 bunch of long or green onions.
  • 200 grams of bacon cut into squares.
  • garlic paste

 

How to make Lentils with Bacon and Potatoes:

1. To start making our recipe for lentils with bacon and potatoes, the first step is to pre-list all the ingredients.

2. Remove the water where we had hydrated the lentils and add the lentils to a pot adding new water, bay leaves, and thyme to taste. Cook over medium heat until soft. Reserve the lentils.

3. Cut the tomatoes and onion very finely and set aside to make our recipe for lentils with bacon and potatoes.

4. Peel our potatoes and cut them into medium squares.

5. Cook our potatoes when they are soft, remove them, and reserve them to make our recipe for lentils with bacon and potatoes.

6. Bring a pot over medium heat with a teaspoon of oil; add our bacon cubes with a little salt, pepper, and a little garlic paste. Sauté our bacon cubes until golden brown. Reserve the cubes and remove some to decorate the plate when serving.

8. Mix our sauce (tomato and onion with the potatoes) and with the golden bacon cubes, add the previously cooked lentils. Bring to medium heat and keep for about 10 more minutes.

9. Serve our lentils with bacon and potatoes, decorating with the golden bacon squares that we had reserved and a little coriander sprinkled on top to give the preparation a special touch.
