Ingredients to make Torrijas Cake:

  • 1 loaf of bread from the day before
  • 600 milliliters of milk (2½ cups)
  • 1 orange (its skin)
  • 1 lemon (its skin)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 eggs
  • 150 grams of honey
  • For the syrup:
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • To sprinkle:
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 piece of ground cinnamon

How to make Torrijas Cake:

  1. To make the French toast recipe, first cut the loaf of bread into1/2 -inch-thick slices. Booking.
  2. Tip: you should know that the baked French toast with sliced ​​bread is also delicious.
  3. You can choose the type of bread that you like the most.
  4. Add a saucepan to the heat with the milk together with the orange peel and the lemon peel, trying not to add the white part of the citrus.

  6. In a bowl, beat the eggs together with the honey until everything is well integrated.

  8. Dip each slice of bread in the mixture of milk, eggs and honey.
