Learn how to make fun rolls with sliced bread with a typical ingredient of Spanish cuisine, especially from Mallorca: sobrassada. At this article, we always seek to innovate to offer original, practical and delicious recipes and in this case we show you how to prepare an appetizer with leftovers. It is about the sobrassada and cheese rolls.

I declare myself a fan of sobrassada, but the truth is that the only way I like to eat it is with brie cheese and honey and looking to present the combination in a different way, I thought of making the famous streamers with sliced bread, but instead from making a cold dish I thought it would be better to make something hot and this was the result, I hope you like it as much as I do!

Ingredients to make sobrassada and cheese rolls:

  • 1 sheet of bread rolls
  • 1 unit of Sobrassada
  • 1 piece of Brie cheese
  • 1 splash of honey

How to make sobrassada and cheese rolls:

Once you have gathered all the ingredients, the first thing you should do is flatten the slice of bread a bit. You can help yourself with a kitchen rolling pin. To make the sliced bread rolls you can use the bread that is already sold in an elongated shape or if you cannot get it, you can use the typical square bread joining several sheets. Next, spread the sobrassada all over the surface of the bread. The sobrassada is usually quite consistent so be careful to avoid breaking the bread during the process. If you want you can heat it a little in the microwave to make it softer. Cut more or less thin pieces of brie cheese and place them along the bread, leaving a free space between each piece as seen in the photo. You can use any other cheese of your choice to make these bread streamers, although brie is the one that goes best with sobrassada.

If you want a trick to cut brie cheese easily, check out step 3 of the leftover toast recipe. Roll up the bread, squeezing lightly as you roll. Do it very carefully to avoid breaking the bread. Up to this point, the process of making the sobrasada rolls is the same as that of the famous party bread streamers.

To finish this recipe with sobrassada, cut the roll into more or less thick pieces and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cook for 10-12 minutes at 180ºC or until the bread and sobrasada are golden brown.

Once they come out of the oven, all you have to do is cover them with a stream of honey and enjoy the sobrassada rolls. It is not a light dish, but it is well worth indulging in this easy recipe with sobrassada that we show you.
