Lentil curry recipe

Lentils are a vegetable food that is very rich in protein. This dish is ideal for vegetarians who do not eat meat. Apart from curry and other spices such as cardamom, they add a lot of flavor. Curried lentils are perfect for lunch with basmati rice.

Ingredients to make lentil curry:

  • 1 cup of Lentils
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 pinch of chili powder
  • 1 unit of white onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 units of red tomatoes
  • 30 milliliters of sunflower oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper

How to make Lentil Curry:

1.Before making this recipe, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.

2.In a pot with oil over low heat, fry the onion and garlic, finely chopped, until the onion is soft. Then add a bay leaf, cumin, cardamom, curry and chili powder, mix everything.

3.Add the peeled and finely chopped tomato, sauté over low heat with the pot covered until the tomato releases its juices.

4.Add the lentils, mix very well and add 3 cups of water. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour. After this time, uncover the pot and cook for 20 minutes over high heat until it reduces a little, rectify flavor with salt and pepper.

5.Finally, serve the lentils with curry and cardamom, serve with a little yogurt to balance the heat of the spices and serve with basmati rice.
