Ingredients to make Amaranth Atole:
- 1 cup of amaranth seeds
- 1 liter of whole milk
- 150 grams of Sugar (¾ cup)
- 2 units of cinnamon sticks
How to make Amaranth Atole:
- The first step to make this amaranth drink is to prepare all the ingredients.
- Add the milk, sugar and cinnamon sticks to a deep pot and heat over medium heat.
- Once the milk has reached a boil, add the amaranth seeds and reduce the heat to a simmer. Let keep for about 10 minutes and turn off the heat.
- Take the preparation to a bowl and let cool, once cold, process the mixture so that all the ingredients are integrated and you obtain a drink without lumps.
- Bring the amaranth drink to a simmer for 10 more minutes, or until it thickens. This drink can be consumed hot or cold, as you wish.
- Serve the amaranth atole sprinkling a little cinnamon powder to taste as shown in the photograph and enjoy!
