For the mass

  • 200 grams of flour
  • 100 grams of butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of ice water

For the filling

  • 4 units of large onions
  • 1 unit of Egg
  • 100 grams of milk cream
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 chicken breast fillet
  • 30 grams of Butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper

How to make Swiss Cake:

We will start the Swiss cake by preparing the dough. To do this, melt the butter and mix it well with the flour. We add salt to taste. Once the previous ingredients are integrated, add the water little by little and continue mixing without overworking the dough.

Form a ball with the dough, cover and let it rest in the fridge until ready to use. Now, let’s go for the pie filling. Cut the onion finely, heat the butter in a saucepan and cook the onion, covered, until it turns transparent.

Add the cornstarch previously dissolved in very cold water and stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste and remove the mixture from the heat. Put it in a container to cool down.

Add the egg and milk cream to the filling and mix well. Now that we have the filling ready, it’s time to assemble the Swiss tart. Knead the dough well to remove excess air, stretch it and line a cake pan with it, leaving a 2 cm edge. High.

We fill the cake with the previous preparation, cut the chicken breast into pieces of the desired size and spread it all over the cake.

Bake the Swiss cake for 45 minutes with the oven preheated to 175ºC. Depending on the power of the oven, it will take more or less to cook, so you must be attentive and remove it when it is golden. It is preferable to eat it hot.
