Ingredients to make Orange Concentrate:
- 1 cup of natural orange juice
- 250 grams of Sugar (1¼ cups)
- 2 units of Orange (zest)
- 30 grams of Cream of tartar
How to make Orange Concentrate:
- To start preparing this fruit concentrate, the first thing you should do is wash the oranges very well with cold water. When they are completely dry, grate the skin on the finer part of the grater and reserve.
- To obtain a cup of orange juice you will need between 3 and 4 oranges, remember to take advantage of the ones that you have previously grated.
- Heat the orange juice together with the sugar and zest in a saucepan. Let it come to a boil and continue cooking until all the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool to room temperature. Then, add the cream of tartar to the orange concentrate and stir until dissolved.
- Reserve the orange concentrate, in a glass jar with an airtight lid, in the fridge. You can use this natural fruit concentrate to make orangeade or to complete desserts. To make orangeade, one tablespoon of concentrate will be enough for one glass.
