- 25 grams of fine long rice
- 250 milliliters of milk
- 1 piece of lemon or orange peel
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence or cinnamon stick
- 25 grams of sugar or sweetener to taste
How to make Argentine Rice Pudding:
- To start preparing Argentine rice pudding, prepare a portion of orange or lemon peel.
- Do it with a potato peeler or a knife, making sure that there are no white parts, as you see in the image, since this will give it a bitter taste.
- Put it in a pot with the milk, the vanilla essence or the cinnamon stick and the rice. Remember that you can substitute cow’s milk for another vegetable, such as rice and coconut milk.
- Heat the pot over high heat until it starts to boil.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and stir every now and then to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
- After the first 10 minutes of cooking the rice, add the sugar and cook for 2 more minutes.
- If you want to make the Argentine rice pudding without sugar, finish cooking without adding it and continue with the next step.
- Serve it and let it cool. If you prefer to do it without sugar, add at this time the amount of sweetener you want to taste.
